Can you believe Halloween is just ten days away? Yikes! Time is flying, and before you know it, Christmas will be right around the corner. But don’t panic just yet—I’ve got you covered with some super quick, last-minute Halloween décor ideas that are both chic and spooktacular!
These projects are so simple that you can throw them together in no time and still wow your guests. Plus, they pair perfectly with my minimalistic Halloween wreath from a couple of weeks ago. The best part? You won’t break the bank—or your back—making these! Simple supplies, no tools needed… let’s do this! 🎃
Spooky Vase
Tools and materials
- Large glass hurricane vase
- Black fabric
- Black ribbon (or deep red, purple, or silver if you want a pop of color!)
- Dry branches
- Black spray paint
- Fake crows
- LED battery-operated fairy lights (red, white, or purple)
- Something to weigh down the vase (I used rocks)
Let’s dive in! First up, let’s give those branches some spooky flair. Grab your black spray paint and coat the branches evenly. Let them dry completely (no one wants smudges!). I found some perfect, dramatic branches from a dead ivy bush—talk about gothic vibes! But you can use any branches you like. Just make sure they aren’t too brittle or fragile.
Next, it’s time to prep the vase. Mine had a frosted finish from a previous project, which added a nice, eerie touch, but you can totally skip that and go for a clear vase if that’s more your style. I placed the rocks on the fabric, then nestled it all inside the vase, leaving the fabric loose to create room for the branches.
Now comes the fun part—arranging the branches! Okay, I’ll admit, they gave me a little trouble because of their uneven stems, but persistence pays off. I used a piece of ribbon to tie them together and then anchored them with the rocks. Voilà!
Next, drape those magical fairy lights around the branches. I used red, but white or purple would look equally impressive. Add some fake crows to up the spooky factor—they have little wires, making them easy to perch on your branches. Finally, tie up some black ribbon here and there for an extra dash of spooky elegance. And there you have it—your creepy-chic vase is complete!
Skull Centerpiece
Tools and materials
- A base (plate, tray, or cake stand)
- Plastic skull
- Black feather boa
- LED fairy lights (red, white, or purple)
- Creepy branch wreath (you can use painted twigs, grapevine wreaths, or even rubber snakes)
Now for the next frightfully fabulous creation! This skull centerpiece is a total showstopper and will look amazing as a table centerpiece, coffee table décor, or even just chilling on a shelf. Bonus—it takes less than five minutes to put together (unless you decide to spray-paint like I did)!
I had an old white serving plate in my garage that I’d rescued from a curbside (yay for upcycling!), so I gave it new life with a quick spray of gray primer and a final coat of stone-effect spray paint. It came out so well!
Once the paint dried, I arranged my black feather boa on top of the plate, then wrapped a string of white LED lights around it for that extra eerie glow. Next, I placed my creepy branch wreath (you can totally substitute this with black-painted rubber snakes for a fun twist) and set the plastic skull right in the center. Ta-da!
You can switch this up however you like—add more creepy crawlies or even use a cloche for a sophisticated touch. The possibilities are endless with this one, so feel free to get creative and make it your own.
I hope you loved these quick and easy Halloween décor ideas! They’re perfect for anyone short on time but still wanting to throw a fabulous, spooky soirée.
